I know...it's Halloween...but I have a birthday card to share with you today that I made for the Ippity challenge this week...which was to make a birthday card using Ippity stamps! I combined three different stamps to make this card and couldn't resist adding a silk bow and some pearls.

Stocking Stuffer

Dawn, over at Everything Under the Sun has challenge the Tangled Up in Creativity blog group to make stocking stuffers this week. I was thinking about what my kids like to see in their stockings and now that they are 12 and 14 I think one of their favourite things would be gift cards! So I made a gift card holder for this challenge in the shape of a stocking...complete with little bells!

Give Thanks

I made this card for the monthly Stampin' Up card club I attend where we swap our cards with the other members. This month's theme was Thanksgiving. To get the multi coloured leaf I made an ink pad with a few baby wipes, added drops of ink in the colours I wanted and then pressed the stamp onto the baby wipes. I used Splitcoast sketch SC302 for the layout.

Dream, Believe, Live

Last week's Play Date Cafe challenge was to use orange, pink and yellow.

I was amazed at how many scraps of paper I had that fit with these colours. I paper pieced the background with a selection of them...I love this technique as it reminds me of quilting which I also love to do!

Season's Greetings

It's Monday again and time for another {Ippity} hop! Visit the {Ippity} Blog for the full list of today's Blog Hop participants and all their wonderful {Ippity} creations...and to see what this week's challenge is!

Over the last few weeks I have had several cardinals land on my back deck here in New Hampshire. I did not grow up with cardinals in Australia so I'm always excited to see them...I also get excited to see the squirrels, chipmunks and turkeys that frequent my backyard! The cardinals are so striking with their bright red feathers and the little tufts on their heads and they inspired me to make today's card. I do not own any cardinal stamps so I had fun turning the birds in the {Ippity} set Quotes a'la Happy into cardinals for this Christmas card!

Don't forget you can purchase all the {Ippity} stamp sets and paper from me HERE and you won't pay any shipping within the US!

Thanks so much for stopping by and have a great day!

Christmas Ornaments

I shared these Christmas ornaments last Tuesday on the Ippity blog so I thought I would share them with you today. They are really very easy to make...I make the front and back the same and sandwich them together with lace! I cut the circles out with nestabilities and used a template to trace and cut the heart shape. The possibilities are endless...they can be different shapes, you can personalize them and use up lots of scraps and embellishments!

You Rock

I can honestly say that I have never made a masculine card with glitter or rhinestones....until today! OWH Stars and Stamps Midweek Throwdown this week is to make a masculine card. I decided to use an Elvis stamp I was given ages ago from someone who knows my husband loves Elvis and I knew it would work perfectly with this week's Splitcoast Stampers sketch SC303. I used Dazzling Diamonds on the microphone and Elvis' shoes and the rhinestone is on the word 'you'. I also made a non glitter version to send to the troops!

Happy Holidays

This week's Ippity challenge is to use pink! This is not a challenge for me as I love pink...I would use it all the time on my cards but I realize that not everybody likes pink so I really try and use all the colours! I challenged myself to make a pink Christmas card using Ippity stamps for this challenge. The designer paper I used has a shine to it which is probably hard to see in the photograph and the two little trees on the ribbon were cut from co-ordinating paper.

I made this card for OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge.

Thank You

When I saw this week's Stampin Sister's in Christ challenge I was thrilled! The challenge is to create a thank you card and I need three masculine 'thank you' cards this week and had been putting off making them as masculine cards are always a little more work than a pretty feminine card. So this challenge was the push I needed to make them!

I kept it fairly simple...you can't go wrong with masculine coloured stripes and metal brads!

Welcome!

The photo below is the Tuesday Trigger this week over at Moxie Fab World. The challenge is to create a paper crafted project that is inspired by the photo.

I like the colour combination but was also inspired by the rolling hills and little houses and of course the use of watercolours. Here is what I created...the colours are much brighter in person...I took the photo on a rainy day without any natural light.

Just a Note

April, from April's Alley is hosting a challenge for the blog group Tangled Up In Creativity. She has challenged us to make a SIMPLE project for the holidays that her BOY Scouts can make for their local nursing home. This can be anything that ISN'T a card that the boys can mass produce easily. The entire project is set to only take one meeting to accomplish.

I decided to make a little notepad holder that could be decorated a number of different ways easily using up scraps of patterned papers and paper punches...and of course it could also be made with Christmas papers for Christmas. There is even room on the inside for a little message too!

A bargain shopping day!

I went shopping a couple of weeks ago with my neighbour and found these little magnetic note holders for $1! When you go shopping do look for little things that would be great altered with stamps, pretty papers and ribbons or is it just me?

The picture on the front has some ugly dents but I knew I could make a new front and it would make a lovely gift. Unfortunately, the little matching pen didn't work so I replaced it and added some matching ribbons to dress it up a bit. The stamp reads "Some Pursue Happiness, Others Create it."

The stamp I used on the front was also found at the same discount store as the note holder and it too was only a $1! I liked it so much I had to make a card with it...in one of my favourite colour combos navy and white!
