Floral Friday

This is my interpretive Ikebana arrangement. Ikebana is Japanese for 'arrangement of living plant materials'. There are many rules and guidelines for designing Ikebana arrangements but this is more of an interpretive design...however the three iris represent Shin (Heaven), Soe (Man) and Hikae (Earth). I've also included some Ming Fern, Solidaster, Ivy, Statice, Pittosporum and Bear Grass.

Just a Note

I love to receive things in the mail so it was a lovely surprise to find two little pieces of paper in my mailbox a couple of weeks ago. They were from Monica over at Gardner's Basket who is hosting one of the Tangled Up in creativity challenges this month. The challenge is to use one or both the pieces of paper on our cards/projects...what a fun challenge!

Here's my card using both pieces of patterned paper...

Supplies:- Unity KOTM July 2009 and November 2010, PTI white cardstock, brilliance ink, DP unknown, Bazzil textured cardstock, SU coloured cardstock, Copics, Copic multiliner and SU ribbon.

Love you!

Things have been crazy busy here over the last couple of months and tomorrow is the last day of school for my kids so perhaps things will quieten down over the summer??? I haven't had as much time to make cards and I've been missing participating in as many challenges as I would like but today's card is for June's Tangled Up in Creativity challenge hosted by Lynn over at A Left-Brained Stamper. Luckily for me her only request is that we incorporate torn paper somewhere in our design. I kept it fairly simple, paper pieced the word 'love' and had fun adding a little doodling to my card with my white gel pen.
Supplies:- Big on Spring by SU, SU coloured cardstock, Scrap DP, Versamark ink, White embossing powder and white gel pen.

You are Bee-utiful!

My card today was made for the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge this week which was to follow the following sketch to a "T" - not adding anything to it, or taking anything away from it. (We may however use various shapes in place of the ones given, as long as there is something representing each item).

Supplies:- Bees & Bunny by Penny Black, Unity KOTM June 2009, PTI white cardstock, Brilliance ink, SU markers, SU DP, SU coloured cardstock, SU scallop border punch, circle punch, button, SU ribbon and foam dots.
