"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Dream Of Magical Things!

Today's card was made for this week's "Eyelets, Ribbon, Paper, Oh My!" blog group challenge. The host for the challenge is Debra from Paper Maven Projects and she has given us a fun challenge involving movies...and the inspiration we may find from them. We may use a colour scheme, period the movie was set in, content of the movie, etc as inspiration.

I made this card for my Mum as she LOVES Cinderella...not just the movie but she collects the books too! There is a little star shaped rhinestone on the tip of the magic wand and two little rhinestones on the flowers at the top of the straps. I used glitter on the wand trail and also on the dress. Unfortunately, the sparkles don't show up very well in the photograph but it really is a sparkly card!
