"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Happy Holidays

This week's Ippity challenge is to use pink! This is not a challenge for me as I love pink...I would use it all the time on my cards but I realize that not everybody likes pink so I really try and use all the colours! I challenged myself to make a pink Christmas card using Ippity stamps for this challenge. The designer paper I used has a shine to it which is probably hard to see in the photograph and the two little trees on the ribbon were cut from co-ordinating paper.
