Happy New Year!
I decided to start the year off with a challenge card....I got so busy towards the end of last year that I just didn't have any time to participate in any card challenges so here's my first for 2012. My card is made with this week's Operation Write Home Stars and Stamps sketch #102. The stripes and the word 'love' are made with a shiny gold cardstock.

I'm Here For You
When I saw the colour challenge this week over at Play Date Cafe I thought I would give it a miss as the colours just didn't speak to me. Then I thought that was silly...isn't it supposed to be a challenge?
I've been wanting to make a card using my Cricut and the Storybook cartridge for ages and I saw this as the perfect opportunity to dig it out. I very rarely use my Cricut for card making...I mainly use it for scrapbooking and I really haven't been doing too much of that lately! I chose the lovely sentiment from Unity's KOTM April 2010 and paper pierced around the card to match the sentiment.

Congrats!
I made this card for my husband who just finished his second Masters Degree. I'm not sure who's happier that he's finished...him or me! I didn't have any graduation stamps so I found the free graduation cap digital image at birdscards.com and cut the Congrats out on my Cricut and used a white gel pen for a little added detail!

Celebrate Today
I made this card for the Moxie Fab Tuesday Trigger Challenge using the trigger photo below.
I thought the colour palette was very masculine so I decided to make a birthday card for my son who turns 14 in a couple of weeks. I paper pieced the background and attached the number 1 with 1/16" foam dots and the number 4 with 1/8" foam dots.
