Secret Owl Swap

This month my Blog Group Tangled Up In Creativity held a Secret Owl Swap. It was so much fun shopping and creating for my secret Owlet. Today is the big reveal of whooo my Owl was and all the goodies she sent. My Owl is Lynn from Confessions of a Left-Brained Stamper and here's a little look at all the goodies she sent me. Firstly, her card which is more lovely in person...

Next, her handmade item...which is a very pretty magnet that is already on my fridge!

...and here are the goodies she sent me...it felt like Christmas! Can you see the set of Kitchen Sink stamps? My very first set! Yippee! What about the Snow Marker...I didn't know there was such a thing and how perfect will that be for Christmas in New Hampshire! I love Scor-Tape and use it all the time and I do love the new M&M Pretzels!

Today's card is for two challenges this week...the OWH Stars and Stamps bonus sketch and the Stampin' Sisters in Christ challenge...A different kind of peace... piece... as in paper piecing. Use paper piecing in the main image of your card/project.

The inspiration scripture this week is Philippians 4:6-7 "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."

May You Be Blessed...

One of the challenges over at Our Daily Bread Designs this week is "Frame It" - Create a Frame or stamp a frame for your image or sentiment. I chose to make a frame with ribbon and roses to frame the stamps from the ODBD set Happy Birthday. It's a little hard to see in the photo but I stamped just the flowers from the top of the watering can in that set lightly behind the verse in green. One of the main reasons I was drawn to {Ippity} stamps was my love for airbrushing and how so many of the {Ippity} stamps could be used and combined for this technique. I haven't airbrushed in a while so today's cards are both airbrushed with Copics. Don't worry if you don't own Copics and an air compressor because you could get very similar results with sponging, watercolours or chalks....just to name a few!

My first card uses stamps from the set The Simple Things and I used only part of the sentiment "While I breathe, I hope."

My second card uses stamps from Now & Always and Music of my Heart. I love this flower from Now & Always and can't believe it's taken my this long to actually airbrush it! I think there might be some more of these on the horizon!

For my Floral Friday post I have a card and an arrangement. Firstly, a card for this week's Penny Black Saturday Challenge...."Spring is Sprung" is the theme. I think Spring has sprung a leak here in NH this week as it has snowed a couple days this week already! Thankfully my craft room has felt like Spring over the last few weeks with all the Spring cards and floral arrangements I've been making.

Secondly, an arrangement I made for my floral design class...this was a novelty design....for a baby.

When I saw this gorgeous inspiration photo for the Cupcake Inspiration challenge this week my first thought was..."wow, they almost look too good to eat!" My second thought was of the perfect stamp in my stash for this challenge...Squeeze till I Squeak by Penny Black.

I must add before I finish this post that I am of the firmest belief that there are NO cupcakes that look too good to eat! Cupcakes are meant to be eaten!

The Tangled Up in Creativity challenge this month is being hosted by Dawn over at Sunnyside Up. She has asked us to be inspired by this well known saying: "March comes in like a lion and goes out like a lamb" and we have to use ribbon, in a novel way, on our card.

I must admit I've never heard of this saying...but having spent most of my life in Australia where the seasons are the opposite of here in the US it wouldn't have much meaning in Australia where March is the end of Summer and the beginning of Autumn.

March is such an unusual weather month here in New England...one day it can be freezing, the next day warm and sunny and the next day snowing...like it is this morning! Thankfully by the end of March the weather settles down, things begin to green and get pretty which makes me very happy which is why I chose this very happy lamb for this challenge!

No card today...just a couple flower arrangements. The first arrangement is an asymmetrical design and the second is a Western Line design...both are made with Larkspur, Carnations, Daisy Pom Pon, Misty, Leather Fern, Myrtle and Pittosporum. The first photograph is a little darker because of the snow storm that was going on outside when I took the photo! The I'll be back with a card tomorrow....have a great day!
