"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Enjoy The Ride

My first card today is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge and the OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge. The Penny Black challenge this week was to make a masculine card and here is the sketch I used...

...and here is my card.

Today is also my Floral Friday so I thought I'd share one of my recent flower arrangements with you...it is made with Carnations, Daisy Pom Pons, Statice, Leatherfern, Myrtle and Boxwood.

Here is the little mini card I made to go with the arrangement.
