Lone Pine Designs

"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Just a Note

I love to receive things in the mail so it was a lovely surprise to find two little pieces of paper in my mailbox a couple of weeks ago. They were from Monica over at Gardner's Basket who is hosting one of the Tangled Up in creativity challenges this month. The challenge is to use one or both the pieces of paper on our cards/projects...what a fun challenge!

Here's my card using both pieces of patterned paper...

Supplies:- Unity KOTM July 2009 and November 2010, PTI white cardstock, brilliance ink, DP unknown, Bazzil textured cardstock, SU coloured cardstock, Copics, Copic multiliner and SU ribbon.
