"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

With Sympathy

Tammy over at Tammy's Spot has challenged our blog group Tangled Up In Creativity to use Vellum in our projects this month. I kept is fairly simple and used the lilac vellum across the background and although it doesn't show up very well in the photograph you can lightly see the pattern from the background paper through the vellum.

Supplies:- Unity KOTM March 2009, All Night Media, SU coloured cardstock, SU ink, Hot Off the Press DP and Vellum, Brads, Beautiful Wings embosslit die and foam dots.
