"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Ippity Christmas Challenge

I'm loving all these Christmas challenges lately....at this rate I'll have my Christmas cards made in plenty of time to send most of them to Australia. I love making cards but it always seems like such a chore trying to get them all finished and in the mail in time! December is always so busy!

Anyway....this week's Ippity challenge is to make a Christmas card and I decided to combine stamps from both the Ippity Christmas sets Kissmas & Mistletoe and Season of Joy to make this card. It was tough to photograph with all the gold but hopefully you'll be able to see it ok....the background paper has a repeated "Happy Holidays" in gold on it and I stitched the buttons on the bows with gold embroidery thread.
