Lone Pine Designs

"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

May You Never Forget...

I really enjoy the Moxie Fab World's Tuesday Triggers and this week was no exception. Here's this weeks trigger: An exercise in exotic...

I knew as soon as I saw it I wanted to incorporate some beads onto my card. The paper was a different story...as I was looking through my stash of patterned papers I just couldn't find anything that seemed to fit the challenge so I dug out my scrap bucket and it all seemed to come together. I do love it when I make a card completely out of scraps! The flower and sentiment are from the Ippity set Now & Always.
