Lone Pine Designs

"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

Floral Friday

My arrangement today is a casket spray that I made for the Floral Design course I'm taking....

It is made with Snapdragons, Carnations, Pom Pons, Plumosus, Tepe Fern, Salal and Eucalyptus.

When I had finished it and photographed it for my assignment I decided to pull it apart and make a couple of basket arrangements for my neighbours.

I think Spring has arrived in NH as the last of the snow finally melted from my yard a couple of days ago and it's been raining nearly every day this week! I'm looking forward to all the flowers that will soon start to appear in my garden. I hope you all have a lovely weekend!

What a lovely gift for your neighbours Christy. So glad that Spring has arrived. We are having glorious weather here. I love this time of the year. It is terrific that you are enjoying your course - you never know where it might lead.
