Lone Pine Designs

"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

For all you do

I have two cards today that are both made with Penny Black Stamps. My first card is for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This week the challenge was to use something that you purchased during the January sales. I haven't been buying much at all lately as I'm trying to use up what I have but I did pick up a packet of flowers with my 40% off coupon at Michael's...hope that counts!

This next card is for the OWH Stars and Stamps sketch challenge #53.

I put a corner like that on the inside of a card today. But I think the scallop idea is even better! I'll have to try it sometime soon!
