Lone Pine Designs

"Lone Pine Designs" originated when I first moved to America in 2005 from Australia. My mother in Australia called our new home in NH "Lone Pine" as she wanted my new home, which is surrounded by pine trees, to have an Australian name. The Battle of Lone Pine is a very famous successful Australian battle which took place during the Gallipoli war in Turkey in 1915. It was called The Battle of Lone Pine for the solitary pine tree standing in the middle of the battlefield which surprisingly remained standing at the end of the battle. After the tough few months leading up to our arrival here in America and surviving the first year in a new country I felt like that pine tree still standing in the battlefield. It was in 2006 when I started to sell my work on Ebay that I decided that Lone Pine Designs would be the perfect name for this new endeavour in my life.

I love you this much!

I made today's card for this month's A Cause For Cards challenge. This challenge blog has been set up by a member of the blog group I'm a part of and friend, Danielle. The Cause for January is Pet Rescue in Australia and the challenge is to include an animal on your card and the colour green somewhere which are both elements of the Pet Rescue Logo. Secondly, with Valentines Day just around the corner we are to incorporate the colour red and include a sentiment which is either words of love, support or encouragement. As I type these details I realize that I forgot to include the colour green....ooops! I received the Build-a-Roo stamp set when I hosted my SU stamp club last month and I thought I would wait until Australia Day (26th January) to ink it up but I couldn't resist for this challenge. I do have plans for another cute animal card and will include the colour green...I promise!
